My sympathy to all of you. May God give you peace in the days ahead.

My heart goes out to your family. For eight years I was blessed to be Ian's art teacher. It was truly an honor. He made me a better teacher, helping me to look at things from new points iof view, creative problem solving beyond what I thought possible for a child, patience, adaptation...not to mention more than I ever thought I would know about Transformers and the Edmond Fitzgerald. Helping him get "unstuck", which usually involved getting h to laugh the most infectious belly laugh ever, was one of the warmest joys I have experienced as a teacher. I am a better person for knowing Ian.
