Obituary

Audrey Mary Faulkner age 86, of Alma, MI. formally of Ravenna, went to her heavenly Father on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Gratiot Hospital in Alma. Mary was born on August 3, 1934 in Peterborough, England to the late Sidney B. and Olive (Lane) Sharpe. She resided there until she was 21, and married James Richard Faulkner on August 27, 1955 in Peterborough, England. After they were married, Mary came to the United States with Jim, settling in Ravenna. Building a house next to Jim’s parents and raising their children. Mary and Jim lived in Ravenna until 2010 when they moved to Michigan Masonic Home in Alma, MI. Mary became an American citizen in 1959. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making many blankets for her children and grandchildren. In their Retirement, Mary and Jim enjoyed going on charter bus trips with the Orchard View Travelers. Among the many places they went were Branson, Florida and Washington DC. They especially liked going on day trips with favorites being Turkeyville, Shipshewana, Frankenmuth and Mackinac Island. The family would like to thank the staff of Michigan Masonic Home for the excellent care give to Mary for the past ten years. Mary was a member of Ravenna United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 132 Grand Haven/Spring Lake. She held office of Ruth for many years. Mary is survived by 1 Son: James Faulkner Jr. of Ravenna. 3 Daughters: Janet Hayes of Sparta, Jeannie (Roger) Stevens of Ravenna and Julie (Tom) Miller of Ferrysburg. Daughter-In-Law: Stephanie Colbert. 11 Grandchildren: Heather, Becky, Ryan, Mandi, Mellisa, Tom Jr, Bennie, Sydney, Wendy, Jonathan and Garry and 18 Great Grandchildren. Siblings: Keith (Heather) Sharpe, Anne Woodward, Alan (Jill) Sharpe and Janet Griffin. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Special cousins: Patricia and Vernon Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James R. Faulkner Sr. 2 Sons: Geoffrey and John. Daughter: Jane Marie, Son in-law: Bill Hayes, Siblings: Betty, Eric, Jean, Gordon and Martin.
