Carl Peter Meyers age 79 of Ravenna, MI died Monday, September 8, 2014 at Poppen Hospice Residence surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born on August 12, 1935 in Casnovia, MI to the late Henry and Julia (Herremans) Meyers. He served in the United States Army. He was the owner/operator of Carls Service for 42 years in Ravenna. Served on the Ravenna Fire Department for 27 years and also served as fire chief for 12years. Member of American Legion. Carl is survived by: Phoebe Meyers of Ravenna, 3 Daughters: Julie (Kenneth) Holubeck of Ravenna, Suzanne Maleski of Grand Haven and Christine (Howard) Hoffman of Ravenna. 2 Sons: Carl (Claire) Meyers of Ravenna and Mike Meyers of Coopersville. 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. 1 Brother: Albert (Elinor) Meyers, 3 Sisters: Mary Symon of Rockford, Nellie (Richard) Johnson of Ravenna and Cathy (Chris) West of Muskegon. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Daughter: Teresa Meyers, 1 Brother: John Meyers, 1 Son in-law: Tom Maleski & Brother in-law: Robert Symon. Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be conducted on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna with Father Fred Brucker celebrant. Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at St. Catherine’s Hall from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 6:00 to 8:00pm. Rosary will be at 8:00pm.
