Robert Louis Brott age 88, of Ravenna died, Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Poppen Hospice Home in Muskegon surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on August 5, 1925 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Fred and Mildred (Gustafson) Brott Jr. He married Mary (Cripe) Brott on June 30, 1944 in Muskegon, MI. Bob was raised in Lakeside in Muskegon, he worked at Kaydon Corporation for 35 years until his retirement 1987. Was a landscaper and did sodding in Muskegon county area for many years. Had a dairy farm in Ravenna with the help of Ray Wunch and Leonard Bossett for many years. Was an avid supporter of Ravenna/Oakridge athletics and was voted Ravenna Schools #1 fan. Loved all sports including Boxing which he participated in at Muskegon boxing club. Loved to travel. Enjoyed the Kaydon retires breakfast every month at Witlow’s. He loved his garden and selling his produce. Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mary Brott of Ravenna, 4 Sons: Barry (Patricia) Brott of Texas, David A (Janet) Brott of Ravenna, Keith Brott of Fruitport and Jeffrey (Susan) Brott of Wisconsin. 3 Daughters: Marsha (Tim) Phillips of Ravenna, Ellen (Michael) Stewart of Ravenna and Elaine (Charlie) Ash of Sand Lake. 1 Daughter in-law: Shelly Brott of Ravenna. 30 Grandchildren, 40 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchild. 1 Brother: Darryl (Norma) Brott of Muskegon. 1 Sisters: Delores (Rich) Perry of Muskegon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bob was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: 1 Son: Robert Donald Brott, 1 Granddaughter: Jennifer Phillips and 2 grandsons: Trent and Travis Brott. 3 Brothers: Dick, Fred and Don. 3 Sisters: Arlene, Darlene and Carol. 1 Daughter in-law: Beth Brott Funeral services for Robert L. Brott will be conducted on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Ravenna United Methodist Church at 3:00pm with Pastor Carl Black officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00pm until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to: Alzheimer’s Association, Ravenna Athletic Boosters or American Lung Association.
