Daniel Jacob Lutz age 78, of Casnovia, MI died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Bishop Hills Nursing Home in Rockford surrounded by his family. Daniel was born on August 1, 1933 in Muskegon, MI to the late George and Anna (Brickman) Lutz. He served in the United States Army 1953 to 1955. He married Rosalee (Hill) Lutz on June 16, 1956 in Conklin, MI. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2010. Daniel is survived by: 4 Sons: Daniel D. Lutz of Chase, Dennis M.(Angie) Lutz of West Olive, Gregory M. Lutz and Matthew W. (Julie) Lutz both of Casnovia. 2 Daughters: Diane R. (Tracy) Maes of Colorado and Kathy A. (Augie) Garcia of Sparta. 28 Grandchildren and 32 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Granchildren. 4 Brothers: George (Lila) Lutz of Casnovia, Joseph (Carol) Lutz, Jim Lutz both of Ravenna. Dave (Sally) Lutz of Sparta. 3 Sisters: Elizabeth Bouwman of Comstock Park, MI, Helen Bramer of Hudsonville, MI and Mary (Gary) Bishop of Norton Shores. Daniel was preceded in death in addition to his parents and wife by: 1 Great Granddaughter: Jennifer Lutz 2 Sisters: Anna Burmeister and Dorothy Wiltenberg. Funeral Services for Daniel J. Lutz will be conducted on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin with Pastor Mark Oswald officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 to greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm and on Wednesday at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund & Great Lakes Caring Hospice. The Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna is in charge of funeral arrangements. 231-853-6511
